PSA- Firefox 1.03 Now Available

It is a slow night, so I thought I would do my duty as a blogger and let Firefox users know the new security update, 1.03 is now available for download.
I have gone through three of these upgrades and have learned quite a bit so I will pass on my thoughts to you. First of all, this new version is a security release and you should install it ASAP.
In previous upgrades, the proper way was to install the new version was to download the newest release, delete the previous release through your add/remove program and then install the new release. That way all of your extensions, themes, settings remained intact and upgraded to the new version. If you just upgraded to the new version, you would see all of those versions in your add/remove list which could cause problems in the future.
With Fx 1.03, I was able to install the new version without removing 1.02 first, and only 1.03 is in my add/remove list. There has been an ongoing discussion which way is correct, and most people feel you can do it the old way by first deleting the older version or do it the new way by just installing over the older version.
Also, there are some extensions that are not yet designed to work with 1.03 but should be available very soon.
If you have any questions, check out this forum and I am sure your question will or has been answered there.

Attack a Tornado

Go into a tornado in this vehicle. The Tornado Attack Vehicle or TA-1, was originally built as a $300,000 Baja trophy truck. In 1998 it was torn apart to be redesigned for a specific purpose: to approach, attack, and enter a tornado in progress. Redesigned, the sleek aerodynamic features make it capable of withstanding forces an F-4 tornado.

Crappy T-Shirt

Anyone who has worked or grown up on a farm with cattle has sooner or later been knee deep in manure (100% real cow manure was the product used to produce these shirts). the idea was conceived after reminiscing about farm chores and the staining ability of cow manure on shirts.
Each t-shirt is hand dipped and has its own unique coloring...stains and all.

Sleep Smart

Have you ever felt that you have had a full night’s sleep, but you still feel tired when your alarm rings? When we sleep, we repeatedly move through several cycles of brain activity. It is incorrectly believed that an extra 15 minutes of sleep would make us feel better. What actually makes us feel alert and energetic, however, is being awoken out of the right sleep cycle.
The scientific community has known about this phenomenon for decades, but the technology has not existed to take advantage of it — until now. Enter SleepSmart: an intelligent alarm clock that monitors your sleep cycles as you sleep, waking you at the ideal moment from the optimal stage of sleep. This optimal moment might be several minutes prior to your set alarm time. However, when you wake up, you will be refreshed and ready for action — just as if you had awoken naturally.
I guess you wear this device around your head. Wouldn't it get in the way of your sleep?

Stupid Movie Physics

Did you ever watch a movie and say "No way can that happen!" Well, if you are talking about special effects, you are probably right.
Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics tells you what can and cannot happen in movies.
For example: Ever notice how cars in movies always burst into flames the instant they collide with anything? Our favorite is when a car falling from a high place explodes the instant before it hits the ground. It's as though its gas tank gets panicky and detonates at the mere thought of striking Earth. Fortunately, the physics are not so cooperative.
Gasoline has a very narrow flammable range of about 1.4 to 7.6 % gasoline vapor in air 2. In other words, the vapor-air mixture must be exactly as specified or the gas will not burn, let alone explode! Note that we say vapor. Liquid gasoline must change into vapor before it can burn (although this is no huge problem since it easily vaporizes).
For a car to explode during impact the tank must catastrophically rupture and spew a fine mist of gasoline over a large area so it can vaporize and mix with air in exactly the right proportions. The mixture must then find a source of ignition. Automobile gas tanks are built to withstand a considerable impact force and are usually located in a protected area between the beams of a car's frame. Common ignition sources in the car's engine are generally at the other end of the vehicle.
As portrayed in movies, gasoline tanks are fragile and gasoline so volatile that the vaporizing and mixing process occurs in milliseconds. It always results in an explosive mixture which always finds a source of ignition. Thank heavens it's not so easy or people would regularly be blowing themselves up while refueling at the pump.

Uh Oh

The Gematriculator is a service that uses the infallible methods of Gematria developed by Mr. Ivan Panin to determine how good or evil a web site or a text passage is.
Basically, Gematria is searching for different patterns through the text, such as the amount of words beginning with a vowel. If the amount of these matches is divisible by a certain number, such as 7 (which is said to be God's number), there is an incontestable argument that the Spirit of God is ever present in the text. Another important aspect in gematria are the numerical values of letters: A=1, B=2 ... I=9, J=10, K=20 and so on. The Gematriculator uses Finnish alphabet, in which Y is a vowel.
Experts consider the mathematical patterns in the text of the Holy Bible as God's watermark of authenticity. Thus, the Gematriculator provides only results that are absolutely correct.

Tiny Novel

Spanish Physicists have used new data storage techniques to pen the first paragraph of a book onto a silicon chip so small that the entire novel would fit on the tips of six human hairs.
The concept of writing things on small objects has been around for some time, and, face it, flash new storage techniques are about as interesting as a 21 page blockbusting press release on printer ribbon ink. But this act of micro-storage was done just to break the ice at a party to celebrate the 400th anniversary of publication of "Don Quixote" so we have to admire them.
Pictured below is my first novel on the chip.
