Design a Dali

Rebuild " A Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate One Second Before Awakening". Got it, just try it...very cool.

Feather Tickle

For most guys and maybe a few women and yes, it is safe for work.

T-Bird Modified

What do you get when you put the front and the back ends of a 1949 Ford onto the body of a 1990 T-Bird; how about a 1949 Ford Thunderbird! I actually like the look of the mod vehicle and maybe some Ford designers should take note.

Kraken Stamps

I had a dream last night about stamps with a Kraken on them. So I did a little research and look what I found.
The Kraken is a legendary sea creature which would attach a ship by grabbing it with its many arms and capsizing it. The crew would drown or be devoured by the monster. The arms of the Kraken were said to be to reach as high as the top of a sailing ship's mast.

The 1st Email Spam

It was sent from SNDMSG which had limited space for To and CC and Subject fields. The poor soul that typed in the announcement, also (in those days) had to type in all the addresses, and this person was not trained in the use of SNDMSG.

So, she/he started typing addresses into the Subject which overflowed into the TO header, which overflowed into the CC header, and then into the Body, and then the actual message was finally typed in;-)... So, lots of intended recipients did not receive it, including me as I was then STEF@SRI-KA.

Photo Montage

Type in a name, get a montage of the pictures available thru google. I typed in Frank Sinatra and the results are below. The program is only version 1.0 so it is still pretty basic.

Humane Mousetraps

What does make a mousetrap better? Efficiency, human safety, and the elimination of the problem? But is there a way to eliminate the problem without killing the mouse?
All of the traps are designed to capture, then allow the mouse to be released elsewhere. All rely on a bit of bait; peanut butter is often recommended.
Shown below is the Teeterpong Trap. It uses a ping pong ball to entrap the mouse in the tube.

Soap Magnet

There is something decidedly “Scandinavian” about the soap magnet. It is elegant and efficient as a problem solver. Easily installed, it is also fun to use. Bar soap may last as much as twice as long and kids actually wash their hands more! And, it is true, certain bars of soap even look sculptural suspended above the back of the sink!

Lego Towers

Pictures of Lego designed PC cases.

Living Room Blog

Notice the pictures (the 360 degree tour shows the whole room) on the wall are from recent posts on Kukla's. You can actually scan your blog and the program will display pictures from your website and decorate the living room walls, tables and even the tv. Check this out for a 360 degree tour of Kukla's and then you can add your own website. Simply amazing. Tip: high bandwidth suggested.
The project is inspired by the perverse commercial tendency to add a 'theme' to everything, from restaurants to amusement parks to government agendas. The idea is to establish uncanny branded environments that reorganize information and boring web aesthetics into quotidian spaces of presumed neutrality.

Took his ball & went Home

from usatoday, Doug Mientkiewicz made the last out of the World Series when Keith Foulke flipped him the ball at first base. Boston wants the ball. Mientkiewicz wants to keep it.
Mientkiewicz still hasn't let go of the ball. But now the Red Sox want it back. Calling the ball, "my retirement fund," Mientkiewicz stored it in a safety deposit box. Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino said Thursday he's going to ask Mientkiewicz to return it to the team.
I think he should give the ball back, it belongs with the Red Sox orginization.

Troll Spray

To the fool who has been leaving racial and derogatory messages at Kukla's the last hour or so, next time you stop by you are getting this right between the eyes.

The King Papers

The King Papers Project is a major research effort at Stanford University to assemble and disseminate historical information concerning Martin Luther King, Jr. and the social movements in which he participated.
Using multimedia and computer technology to reach diverse audiences, it has greatly increased the documentary information about King's ideas and achievements that is available to popular as well as scholarly audiences.
I have been visiting The King Papers Project the last few days and have come away with a much greater understanding of the man.

Favorite Hi Tech Automobile

Consumers ranked James Bond's gadget-filled Aston Martin DB5 as their favorite famous high-tech car, followed by KITT from the 1980s TV series "Knight Rider" and the Batmobile.
In addition, if consumers could give their high-tech car a voice, their top choice would be former 007 Sean Connery's famous Scottish brogue. Their second choice would be that of actor James Earl Jones' Darth Vader.

Get Creative

I can' t draw a straight line with a ruler but I am sure many of you are very artistic. Clear out your mind, grab the paint brush and here is your canvas.

Walk away from the Computer

With an estimated 120 million Americans now online, it’s no wonder that some people are having problems due to their excessive use of the internet.
How do you know if you’re addicted or rapidly tumbling toward trouble? Read on...

Ping em All

There are a number of services designed specifically for tracking and connecting blogs. However it would be expensive for all the services to crawl all the blogs in the world all the time. By sending a small ping to each service you let them know you’ve updated so they can come check you out. They get the freshest data possible, you don’t get a thousand robots spidering your site all the time. Everybody wins.
Get more info at the ping-o-matic blog.

Public Facility Etiquette

Men will understand, women may understand, Europeans should read and/or comprehend it.

100 Most Popular Names - 2004

After three years at the top, Emma has unseated Emily as the most popular girl name in the United States, while Jacob remained the nation's most popular boy name for the fourth year in a row.
I am still waiting to see the name "Seven" appear on one of these lists. Whatever happened to Paul, George, John and I am not speaking about The Beatles.

Radio Controlled Photography

Each entrant for this project agreed to post a photograph taken on January 1, 2005 using their radio controlled aerial photography aircraft. Along with the photo was posted pertinent information such as location, weather, aircraft, camera and in most cases a description of the event.
A great set of pictures from those little planes. The shot below is from Mission Viejo, California.

Glow Chair

Eudora is a fiberglass chair upholstered in a variety of printed fabrics and encased in polyester resin. To top off the play on a preserved artifact, Eudora is illuminated from within to create an enticing and surreal object.
I like the look of this, wonder what if feels like to sit on though.

Why!!! Why!!!

Eleven years ago today we heard, Why, Why....(will open WMP-audio).
In case you are not familiar with what happened: from the Washington Post (may require reg.), U.S. national champion figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, a 1992 Olympic bronze medalist and one of the favorites to win the gold medal at next month's Winter Olympics, was attacked by a man wielding a blunt object after a practice this afternoon at the U.S. Olympic trials.

Beat the Computer

Pretend to be a television or film character and answer the questions the computer asks as truthfully as possible.
With you answering yes or no to the questions, the computer narrows down its decision making process. I tried 5 names, computer guessed four correct.

GPS Drawings

Digital mark making using GPS satellite navigation technology. GPS receivers can automatically record where you have been as a digital dot-to-dot line.
The drawings are of planned journeys captured using GPS receivers. They were created by treating travel like a geodetic pencil or a cartographic crayon.
The picture below actually became a game of tic-tac-toe through the streets of Hollywood, Ca.

Starbucks Simpified

Handy-dandy cheat sheet to help you figure out what you want without spending hours staring blankly at the menu. It's huge, but that's because there's a lot to choose from.

Walking a fine Line

This business provides connoisseur grade marijuana products for medicinal purposes, as allowed for under the laws of Canada.
They ship to Canadians worldwide (so it is not worldwide), excluding the United States, and your order is guaranteed (hmmm), within Canada.
They only allow hushmail accounts to log in (something fishy is going on).
They prefer Canadian cash, but also accept a Canadian dollar money order (with the "pay-to" section left blank) or foreign currency.
Under conditions of use, you must agree that you are not affiliated in any way with any law enforcement or government agencies.

Do people actually use this "service"?

Hollow Face Illusion

A hollow mould taken from a face actually appears to be a three dimensional convex face, even though it is actually concave.
Check out the video here.

Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)

Known spyware on your PC can be detected and removed. This helps reduce negative effects caused by spyware including slow PC performance, annoying pop-up ads, unwanted changes to Internet settings, and unauthorized use of your private information.
It looks like Microsoft is beginning to use their recently bought software from Giant anti-spyware. Giant was a great software product and hopefully will run just as smooth now that it is in the hands of Microsoft.
(update 1/6/05, 630pm) Here is a good article on the software.

Turn around your T-Shirts

Take your old t-shirts and gave them new life. With some cutting and stitching, turn them into your panties. I do hope only women are doing this.

Total Destruction

Quite a few, first hand videos of the Tsunami throughout S.E Asia. If you are going to watch the videos, please make sure you right click and SAVE AS... to help save bandwidth. The videos download quite fast and bring us closer to the total destruction this earthquake caused.

Speaking "American"

Another great PBS show debuts tonight; "Do you speak American?". This program should be mandatory for all schooll-aged children. I am looking forward to seeing this part of the show: Language expresses who we are, and who we want to be. It can also unite or divide us.

Restoring Eyesores

When a "big box" retailer moves into town, its arrival is either hailed as a boon to the local economy or decried as the death of the mom-and-pop store. But what happens when the superstore moves on, abandoning its huge warehouse-like structure?
Julia Christensen began investigating how communities are re-using the "big box". Throughout the spring and summer of 2004, she traveled over 17,000 miles around the country in her car, visiting the sites and meeting the people who are making these transformations possible. She has been collecting a growing collection of photographs, interviews, stories, and documents relating to the renovations, and has been giving presentations in communities about how towns are dealing with this common situation.

Some Missing - Some Found

Flikr has set up a photoblog for family and friends looking for loved ones lost in the Tsunami.

Pimpin Time

72 Red L.E.D. 18 carat watch lights up brighter than any other watch available.
What really makes this watch stand out is the light up feature; the watch lights up in a spiral and then off in a spiral every 2 minutes from 6 PM to 1 AM. Super flashy and you will be Pimpin large. Pimpin was never easy till now. Grab one and see for yourself.

The Uberman Sleep Schedule

Uberman's sleep schedule revolves around forcing yourself to rely on six twenty to thirty minute naps spread throughout the day for your daily dose of sleep. I stuck to thirty minute naps, currently having them starting roughly at 2 AM, 6 AM, 10 AM, 2 PM, 6 PM, and 10 PM every day.
Anyone recall Kramer trying this for a few days and then walking around in a "zombie state".
Sarah, one of my favorite bloggers has been having trouble sleeping lately and I hope she had a restful sleep last night.

A Salute to the Poles

A salute to all the Polish people who have visited Kukla's in the past five days. Thank you for all of your kind emails and messages and please remember the loss of life due to the earthquake in S.E. Asia.

Uh Lady, there is a Zebra on your Head

Actually it is a prop for a play entitled Thirteen Zebras and a Green Monkey. But many more animal "hats" do exist.

Peaceful Night

Trevor Howard is a great artist who describes his work as "simplified and stylized realism". He works mostly with acrylic and his work must be seen.
I was attracted to the piece of work below because it reminds me of warm, summer nights.

O.J. Simpson to attend National Championship

O.J. Simpson will be attending tonight's NCAA National Championship Football Game in Miami. His attorney, Yale Galanter, monitored the telephone call and wouldn't allow Simpson to say where he'll be sitting inside the stadium.

Will he be wearing a disguise the whole night? Like he won't be noticed!!!

Mexican Jumping Beans

I had no idea the complete 2004 crop of Mexican Jumping Beans was a complete failure. Nor did I know that the bean is not really a bean. Make sure you visit the life cycle feature to fully understand what it is all about.

Now I have Seen it All

Before you visit the site, just imagine what face would fit in the uniform. Do people actually pay for this?

What is It - This Week

This could be a tough one, but give it a try.

and the Winner is...

Rock, paper & scissors battle to the end. (will open QT-video)

Hello OLED, goodbye LCD

OLED display responses are 1,000 times faster than liquid crystal displays (LCDs), thus enabling greater resolution. The display's ability to function perfectly without a backlight means that monitors can be produced with one-third the depth of their LCD rivals.

The Words of Bob Dylan

Don't think twice, it's alright. Classic!!!

JOHN 3:16

"I can't believe he is at another big game." That was the response we had whenever Rainbow Man appeared at another big game. The guy attended every big sporting event, no matter what sport it was. World Series, US Open in Tennis, The Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga, Stanley Cup Finals, Super Bowls, NBA Championships and many, many more events. He stood out for two reasons, #1, his rainbow colored wig and later on when he really became famous, his holding up the John 3:16 sign.
He first appeared on the sporting scene in 1977 and while other people in the crowd would actually shy away from being on camera ( as opposed to today when people look like goofs with their cell phones in hand calling everyone they know to say, hey turn on the TV and look at me), Rollen Stewart would do a little bogey for the camera and just smile. TV producers hated the guy, he was in every important shot and they tried to avoid any feed with him in the background, but Rollen knew exactly where to stand to get maximum exposure.
Enough from me, read on for a sad and detailed story.
Also, when doing research on Rainbow Man, I discovered a DVD titled "The Rainbow Man/John 3:16", is also available,.

flickr Tells the Truth

As I have stated in previous posts, I use flickr as my photo host. Well they have experienced a few uploading issues the last two days and came right out and gave an explanation why it is happening. I commend them for being straight with their clients and hope other customer-driven companies follow the same policy.

Get a Good Nigh's Rest

Just listening to the music makes me tired, but if you have sleeping issues, this is the place to visit. Tip: make sure you move your mouse on all the icons.

Vacation with the Fockers

I would think the Fockers vacation at this location. Oh my!!!

Bird's Eye View

Fly along with Tilly the golden eagle. Simply amazing.
