How Many Pennies.....

The MegaPenny Project aims to help by taking one small everyday item, the U.S. penny, and building on that to answer the question: "What would a billion (or a trillion) pennies look like?"

All About Leaves

This is the time of year that all the leaves fall to the ground. Some are big, some are little, some are beautiful and bright. Millions of trees end the growing season by dropping their leaves to the ground, to prepare for a winter rest. The wind carries some leaves a great distance, other leaves float slowly to the ground below.

  • Top 10 popular last names in the USA-Smith, Johnson, Williams, Jones, Brown, Davis, Miller, Wilson, Moore and Taylor

In 1897 she wrote a letter to the editors of the New York Sun newspaper asking if Santa Claus existed. The answer, written by the editor, appeared in the September 21, 1897, edition of the paper. It read: “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as surely as love....How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias.”

Tuvaq has certainly developed an independent and playful personality. He's started to enjoy some special attention from the marine mammal trainers, who are beginning to interact with him more formally. Thanksgiving Party Host part 2

Lat week I started a checklist for people hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner. This week you should follow these tips.
  • Table (one large enough for all your guests)
  • Chairs for all of your guests
  • Dinner plates
  • Dessert plates
  • Coffee cups and saucers
  • Polished forks, knives and spoons
  • Water glasses
  • Roasting pan: Is it the right size for your turkey? Will it fit into your oven? (Don't laugh: It's easier to buy the right pan today than it will be on Thanksgiving morning.)
  • Well-sharpened knives

Does anyone actually follow these types of lists?

Closed on Sunday

Sunday is a "no blog day" in my household. Enjoy the rest of the day and look for posts to begin again early Monday morning. I also wanted to thank all the people who have visited this site. Although Kukla's just started four days ago, I am overwhelmed by the amount of traffic this site has generated.
See you on Monday and I leave you with this haunting laugh from Vincent Price.
